We are Keith and Kristina Boddie, owners of Parisi Speed School of the River Region, also known as "The Speed School." We started our journey under the name Mission Fitness and Performance and that quickly turned into something much more special than just owning a gym!
Parisi Speed School of the River Region is a unique and advanced training center designed to help youth reach their health, fitness, and athletic goals. We wanted to create a place for youth athletes to come in to not only set but also to reach their goals.
When we learned that 70% of youth athletes quit their sport before they reach high school, we were shocked and upset. That statistic greatly bothered us, so we decided to do something about it. That is why we decided to take on the ownership and operation of Parisi Speed School of the River Region, the only Parisi Speed School affiliate in Alabama. With a blended family of 4 children, we want to encourage children and youth to live their dreams to the fullest!
Our Speed School coaches and trainer are certified to provide your athletes with the best possible training for speed, strength, and agility exercises while keeping them safe with an emphasis on injury prevention. We recruit dedicated coaches that are here because they want to train athletes to push themselves to their limits. But most importantly, we do it all while building relationships.
Sports Performance
Hello! My name is Keith Boddie, and my wife and I operate Parisi Speed School of the River Region. We are so excited to watch The Speed School grow! Our passion is to make sure each athlete we train sees their potential and NEVER GIVES UP!
Growing up I played sports until one season I had a very bad coach that ended my career. This coach impacted me in a very negative way. But through this experience, we have set a goal! We are out to change the mentality of coaching. No one in our facility will quit on our watch!
My background is as a United States Marine, and I have spent my entire career in the Montgomery Fire Department.
I am an avid competitor and my hobbies include participating in CrossFit competitions with my wife, race challenges, and obstacle courses. One thing I won't do is ask you to do something I myself cannot complete. I believe a good coach is one that can get in there and go through the grind with you. One thing I am big on is your mental state of mind. Your body might give out on you, but it's your mind that will pull you through!
Our entire family plays a role in the success of The Speed School. We look forward to seeing you there!
Softball & Volleyball
Hey! I am Coach Madison and I'm a student at AUM. I am currently working on my degree in Physical Therapy with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. After graduating from Edgewood Academy in 2020, I received a full-ride scholarship to play softball at Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
Right now my main focus is on my education and coaching. I absolutely love coaching at Parisi! I am the Parisi Pee Wees coach for ages 4-6 and I also coach the Jump Start and Total Performance classes.
Here are some of my most notable accolades:
Speed Coach
Track & Field
Coach A. makes a great impression from the moment you see... or hear her! She heads up our "Friday Night Hard Chargers" as she has affectionately titled the Friday night crew.
Career Accolades:
Weight Lifting/ Track
Hey! I am Coach Joni a.k.a. Coach Mama Bear! I am excited to get an opportunity to watch each young athlete learn and grow here at Parisi.
I am the true definition of a Military Brat. Raised by my single mother who served 22 years in the Army. My husband has also served 21 years in the Air Force. We moved from VA to AL in Aug 2021.
I currently work at Pike Road Elementary School as a PE Coach. I studied at Troy University where I obtained my bachelor's in Psychology and minor in Nutrition.
I have 3 kids that love sports, mainly football, gymnastics and basketball. I love lifting weights and even entered a few powerlifting competitions/challenges over the years.
I ran track in HS, the 100m dash, 4x 400m and shot put. I coached RIP (Run Improvement Program) while in Japan for 3 years. In this program, I dedicated my time to motivating and training 10-15 men and women that were on Active Duty but on alert for possibly failing a 2-mile run. We used the Newton and US Track and Field Association training to help get them into shape.
My goal at Parisi is to help build confidence, focus, and good form in our youth. You can do hard things if you show up and put in the work.
Weight Lifting
Hey! I am Coach Tyler Abernathy, but you can call me Coach T. I am a former collegiate athlete turned speed and agility coach. I am many things but above all else, I am a devout Christian.
I love being a part of The Speed School because as a former collegiate athlete, I know how important it is to have good influences around you in the youth years. Now that I am a Coach, I pour my all into these kids.
I will be your biggest hype man but I will also get in there and challenge you to beat me! I believe in teaching our athletes what healthy competition looks like.
Career Accolades:
Baseball Instructor
I was born and raised in Wetumpka, AL and graduated from Wetumpka High School in 2011. After graduating I went on to play baseball my freshman and sophomore year at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, AL. I continued my education and finished up my collegiate baseball career at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. where I was a starting pitcher and earned first-team all-conference honors for the Peach Belt Conference.
While at Columbus State University I attained my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. Following my undergrad studies, I attend South University in Montgomery, AL to become a licensed physical therapy assistant.
I work as a PTA at Phoenix Physical Therapy in Wetumpka and my family and I live here in Wetumpka as well.
I have been a pitching instructor and giving baseball lessons for over 4 years now. In 2020 I was an assistant baseball coach at Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery. It is a passion of mine to teach kids the game of baseball and the game I love. Being a former pitcher I love to teach kids of all ages (youth-high school) the fundamentals of pitching; how to pitch with a plan, making mechanics more effective in every game, and key drills to help them become more competitive each outing as pitchers. Having been around the game for almost 25 years I love to see kids grow as baseball players, young men and help them gain skills that will benefit them every step of the way.
